Bcl Bible Classics Library #12: Jonah
R T Kendall explores the life of Jonah, revealing a very flawed character with whom modern readers can closely identify - a prophet who hated the idea of God's grace being extended to all.
This study examines Jonah's behaviour, his motives, and his response to life-threatening circumstances, and shows how God teaches this reluctant man the truth about His limitless love and mercy, the priority of prayer, and the necessity of repentance.

Bcl Bible Classics Library #12: Jonah
The book of Jonah is one of the most relevant books for the present time. It presents a story that ominously parallels the situation in the modern church. In this collection of sermons, originally delivered by Dr. Kendall at Westminister Chapel, the church is challenged to look at its current situation: a stance of retreat, not battle ready. The sermons are presented here almost as they were delivered in order to retain their freshness and authenticity. As a result, the message that heralded a new beginning for one congregation thirty years ago can speak powerfully to many others today.
