Kim was a man seeking to fill a void and that quest took him all
over the globe from Thailand to Minorca, New York to Switzerland.
His talents as a con-man and predilection for violence meant he
could never settle in one place for too long. He climbed his way up
the career ladder of a UK triad and as Deputy Godfather was given
the status and respect he felt were his due; yet his restlessness
continued.
He writes ‘I was at war with myself. I was drinking
and smoking, using and threatening violence, gambling and
womanizing – trying to fill the longing within me… I
had moments of distraction, moments of happiness; but I had no
peace, no joy.’
Betrayed by a Triad ‘brother’ Kim ended up in prison
and there God spoke to him clearly and unequivocally. At last he
had found what he had been searching for, he saw his life for the
‘filthy rags’ that it was and knew things had to
change. A radical transformation of his life saw him leave his old
ways behind and begin a whole new life in ‘God’s
gang’.
Kim Goh is now the minister of a Methodist Church located near
Loughborough.
