Perhaps more than ever before, there is a need for Christians to understand the shifting sands of religion and culture. Unfortunately, it is with some justification that the church has been criticized, by both insiders and outsiders, for failing to understand the deep social, religious, and cultural changes taking place. This major series invites scholars to provide sensitive, empathetic, reliable, and accessible studies that will advance thinking about important subjects such as fundamentalism, mysticism, globalization, postmodernism, secularization, the religious significance of contemporary film, art, music, literature, information technologies, youth culture, religious pluralism, the changes taking place in contemporary world religions, and the emergence of new, influential, and alternative forms of spirituality.
